Course Description:
This foundational course is designed to help early education educators understand the importance of building strong, collaborative partnerships with families. Participants will explore strategies for creating open, respectful communication, addressing challenges, and working together to support children’s development and learning.
Learning Objectives:

Active listening, open communication, conflict resolution and being willing to compromise to something that works for everyone but in the best interest of the child.
We added pictures of their families in their cubby to show these culture and inclusiveness. I chose the pictures because I have a lot of 2-3 yr olds and it’s easier to express and show by pointing things out on a picture easier for them to describe

A strong family communication plan in a child care setting includes daily updates, regular conferences, and multiple communication methods. These strategies strengthen partnerships between families and educators, promote children’s development, and ensure that important information is shared effectively and consistently.

Family partnerships are the foundation of high-quality early childhood education. The most critical aspects involve mutual trust, two-way communication, lid of life and understanding.

Propuesta de Encuesta para las Familias
Estimadas familias, para seguir fortaleciendo nuestra alianza y mejorar la experiencia de sus hijos, les solicitamos responder brevemente esta encuesta:
¿Qué canales de comunicación prefiere para recibir actualizaciones sobre el dÃa a dÃa de su hijo?
Mensajes cortos por aplicación móvil (WhatsApp/App del centro), Notas impresas en la mochila, Correos electrónicos semanales, Llamadas telefónicas
¿En qué horarios o formatos le resultarÃa más fácil participar en las actividades o reuniones del programa?
Reuniones virtuales por la tarde/noche
Talleres presenciales los fines de semana
Actividades breves al momento de dejar o recoger al niño
Propongan ideas sobre posibles desafÃos y soluciones para la creación de relaciones familiares.
Muchas familias trabajan jornadas largas o tienen múltiples empleos, lo que les dificulta asistir a reuniones presenciales o participar en las actividades del programa.
Solución colaborativa: Implementar canales de comunicación asincrónicos y flexibles como mensajes breves por aplicaciones móviles, notas breves de agradecimiento o videos cortitos sobre el progreso del niño.
Cómo involucrar a las familias y crear alianzas de confianza para mejorar los resultados de los niños y las familias.
Compartir fotos y videos de las actividades diarias de los niños para que las familias repliquen dinámicas de juego o aprendizaje en el hogar, manteniendo un hilo conductor entre la escuela y la casa.

Se invita a las familias a leer un libro o contar una historia en su idioma
Pedirles que traigan fotos familiares para decorar el aula, lo que hace que el espacio se sienta como una extensión de sus hogares.
Plan de Comunicación Familiar: Tres Estrategias Clave
Para construir una alianza efectiva y colaborativa con las familias en la educación infantil temprana, es fundamental establecer canales de comunicación basados en la confianza, el respeto mutuo y la empatÃa por ejemplo:
1. Saludar cordialmente a las familias diariamente
En qué consiste: Recibir a los padres, madres o tutores con un saludo afectuoso, llamándolos por su nombre y mostrando una actitud de apertura y disponibilidad desde el primer momento del dÃa.
2. Adaptar los métodos de comunicación
En qué consiste: Reconocer que cada familia es única y tiene diferentes realidades (horarios laborales, barreras lingüÃsticas, acceso a la tecnologÃa). Yo uso mucho el traductor ya que algunos de mi niños hablan otro idioma, y para comodida de las familia le escribo los aviso y noticia en 3 idiomas para que todo se sientan comodos.
3. Hacer preguntas abiertas
En qué consiste: Evitar las preguntas que se responden con un simple “sÔ o “no” (como “¿durmió bien?”) en la mañana siempre le pregunto a mis niños como están, cmo te siente hoy mi niño.
Establecer una Comunicación Constante y Positiva que los padres y su hijos se sientan bienvenidos desde el primer dÃa, como por ejemplo recibir las familias con cordialidad diariamente. Un saludo afectuoso genera un ambiente seguro y abierto.
In creating family relationships Avoid negativity and personal attacks- Stay child-centric- Respect boundaries- These can be potential challenges. The solutions are to use anecdotal evidence. Be in the child ‘s best interest and be supportive of the parents.
Evitar que la comunicación se desvÃe hacia juicios de valor sobre el estilo de crianza de los padres o que estos se sientan juzgados y se pongan a la defensiva.
One resource for supporting diverse families is to collaborate with families. I choose that resource because it will help families to bring their values and traditions to my Childcare and inform me of themselves.
Family communication plan with three key strategies: 1-Greet families warmly 2-Adapt communication methods 3- Ask open-ended questions. Focusing on these three key strategies will help me to meet the needs of the parents I serve to better help their children. Make them feel welcome and choose the best way to communicate with open-ended questions.
I invited one of my parents to come to read to the students in Spanish. The child was excited as well as the other children. That parent felt so empowered. Since then he has been so involved.
